Gerber Fest, to be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at the Abbey Pub in Chicago, is a fundraising event in memory of Anthony (AJ) Consago. The event will feature live music, silent auction, raffle, food and cocktails. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Since AJ was a passionate musician and supporter of the arts, all proceeds will benefit The People’s Music School, a tuition-free music school providing intensive musical instruction to over 350 kids each year.
The People’s Music School is the oldest and only tuition-free music school in the country. Through programs at the Uptown Academy and community Youth Orchestras, the People’s Music School delivers access to the benefits of high-quality, tuition-free music education. Through intensive instruction and performance, students achieve excellence in music that transfers to other areas in life. They grow musically, socially, emotionally and intellectually, and develop a foundation of responsibility, self-esteem, resilience and purpose.
Since its inception in 2013, Gerber Fest has raised over $14,000 to support music education programs at the People’s Music School. Gerber Fest is actively seeking donations for this special event. For more information on how to donate or purchase tickets, visit www.gerberfest.com.
